On November 20th, 9am CET, Light for the World is organising a webinar on participatory design, based on our experience in our AgriLab in Cambodia. The speaker will be Andrew Drain of Massey University.
This webinar will provide an overview of participatory design; a process in which technical experts work collaboratively with specific communities to identify opportunities, generate ideas, prototype, test and implement solutions. This approach to creating solutions has many benefits, but is also complex, meaning care must be taken in the selection of activities, the type of project undertaken and the way that everybody interacts. This webinar will provide a detailed introduction to this style of design and presents multiple examples of its use in the design of farming equipment with people with disability in rural Cambodia.
