A Social Innovation Lab is a space where a group of people in complementary roles come together to experiment, in order to find new solutions to complex problems. Since 2016, Light for the World has been setting up labs in order to develop new tools and approaches towards disability mainstreaming – the process of ensuring that society is accessible for and inclusive of persons with disabilities.
Innovate for Inclusion reflects on four labs that we have undertaken during the past few years. The different journeys we have taken to find solutions, demonstrate the power of the lab methodology as a method to creating genuine inclusion in development programmes whilst also empowering persons with disabilities at the same time.
