Light for the World has started a partnership with Plan Finland to work on disability inclusion in the My Body My Future program. The My Body My Future program is implemented by Plan Finland through its country offices, and supports the Finnish development policy in its objective to protect and fulfil the rights of women and girls, including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
Our partnership under this program is a unique opportunity to ensure that all stakeholders realize what the main barriers are to disability inclusion within society, and what they and the communities can do to put a stop to these barriers. In all four programme countries (Ethiopia, Uganda, Mozambique, and Laos), adolescents with disabilities will be consulted in all cycles of the project. Also, SRHR information will be made accessible for persons with communication difficulties, and community awareness on the rights of persons with disabilities will be increased.
We are looking forward to be able to share achievements and lessons learned in this partnership on disability inclusion.
