Since 2012, Light for the World Netherlands (L-NL) has been part of the Light for the World family. In the previous years, we have achieved a lot together. We jointly developed innovative initiatives on inclusive economic empowerment and mainstreaming disability inclusion. It enabled us to enlarge our impact for people with disabilities. We are grateful for the support and collaboration over the previous years.
Now, L-NL is approaching a new phase. In the coming years L-NL will focus on the development of comprehensive programs in Africa and Asia, wherein we work on equal access to (eye)health, education, work and income for people with disabilities. Based on Christian values. With strong and strategic partnerships with CSO’s and DPO’s in the South, and development organisations in the Netherlands. Closely connected to our constituency in the Netherlands. We have concluded that the best way to achieve these future goals, is outside Light for the World. That’s why we change our name as per 1 January 2021.
Light for the World Netherlands becomes SeeYou Foundation. This step enables us to stay close to our Christian values, to strengthen our partnership with partners worldwide, to have a more direct and personal connection with people in our projects, and to organize ourselves more lean and in an effective way. By making this choice, we follow our heart. Close to the mission and vision of our founders, ophthalmologist Martien and his wife Jenny Cozijnsen. Their specialism and passion for an inclusive world lives on in our new name:
SeeYou. Including everybody.
We remain the same organisation, with another name, but with the same board, team, projects and partners. We continue our work with the same strong passion for an inclusive society where no one is left behind. Collaboration with other organisations remains key in our approach. As such, we will maintain our partnership and together bring it to a new height. At the moment we are preparing ourselves for the transition to the new name. To give you already some insight, we share herewith our new logo.
