Thousands of persons perished or were injured, and many millions were displaced. It is estimated that over a hundred thousand women, men, girls and boys with disabilities were affected by Idai. Anecdotal information shows that they did not receive the assistance and protection required before, during and in the direct after. We like to share a Policy Paper on the access to humanitarian aid for women, men, girls and boys with disabilities. Especially humanitarian aid for persons with disabilities affected by cyclone Idai, in Mozambique. The paper is the output of a qualitative study conducted in the Sofala province following cyclone Idai. It is part of a broader project of Light for the World Mozambique funded by UNICEF on Inclusion and Relief for Persons with Disabilities in Response to cyclone Idai.
