Learning about CBR

WHO and IDDC have developed an online tool in the CBR guidelines. This tool helps to understand the CBR guidelines better, but also work has been done on developments that happened after the launching of the CBR guidelines. The main one being the UNCRPD developments.

We truly recommend this tool to anybody who would like to understand more about CBR or on any component of the CBR guidelines like inclusive education, livelihood or empowerment. You can follow the whole tool or you can do parts of it.

Below is the official message from WHO about the tool and a request to give them feedback about your thoughts on it.

Enjoy learning more about CBR and inclusive development!

Message from WHO

As you may be aware INCLUDE was launched during the 2nd CBR World congress in Kuala Lumpur. You are able to access it via the WHO website. http://www.who.int/disabilities/include/en/

The material presented in INCLUDE is based on the CBR Guidelines, which were released by WHO in 2010. All materials have been updated to incorporate significant developments since the guidelines were released. The main focus of INCLUDE is to provide a basic overview of the key concepts of CBR, identify goals and outcomes that CBR programmes should be working towards and provide suggested activities to achieve these goals. We hereby encourage you to have a look at it and try it out.

A lot of time and effort was put into the development of INCLUDE. We therefore would like to understand what you think of it.

We have developed an anonymous questionnaire with a set of open and closed questions. It asks a variety of questions about the usefulness of INCLUDE, its quality, how helpful it is for a variety of audiences, how easy it is to use and what should be changed or added.

We hope to receive opinions from a variety of audiences such as CBR practitioners, CBR managers, CBR trainers, CBR planners, people with disabilities, government officials, and people working in development agencies.

The survey should take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

We encourage everyone who has used INCLUDE to provide us with feedback by answering the questionnaire. It is not necessary to have gone through all of the training modules.

Could you also please circulate this message to the members in your network.
