The Disability Inclusion Lab in Cambodia is registered and up and running! After working in Cambodia for over 15 years already, Light for the World decided to formally open a small office to have on the ground presence in the country and be near to the people and partners we work with.
We have a small team based in a pagoda in Phnom Penh, consisting of David, Virak and Maya. We work with a variety of partners – NGOs, DPOs and government – on different projects. Some examples include Leadership Training for Women with Disabilities, inclusion in Road Safety with the Cambodian Red Cross, and the development of business hubs to increase access to employment for persons with disabilities. We are also linked in many networks, including the national Employability committee and the NGO CBR network, and are bringing people and organisations together to promote positive change for persons with disabilities.
We can be contacted for practical advice, assistance, and training facilitation on disability inclusion, and for supporting organisational development for organisations working on disability. Our plan this coming year? To engage even more in raising the agenda of disability inclusion with mainstream organisations.
